Using a Dehydrator for Onion Rings

Makes 22-30 Rings
Ingredients:

  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • ½ cup aminos
  • 1 cup seasoned almond flour

Seasoned almond flour:

  • ¾ cup almond flour
  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp herbs (parsley, oregano, thyme, etc.)
  • Pinch cayenne (optional)

Directions

  1. Separate the onion rings and soak them in aminos for 10 minutes.
  2. Remove the onion rings from the aminos and quickly dredge them in the almond flour. Doing one at a time prevents the flour from getting too wet and clumpy.
  3. Arrange the onion rings on the Teflex® lined dehydrator racks and dehydrate at 105 degrees F for 6-8 hours or until crisp.

Store in a tightly sealed container to keep fresh.
