Becoming A Patient

Becoming a Patient at An Oasis of Healing

Our Patient Services Department will be in regular contact with you as you prepare for your visit to An Oasis of Healing.  We are available to answer all your questions, provide information about lodging, and provide you with an overview of what to anticipate your first day and thereafter.

The first step in the process of becoming a patient is to schedule your initial consultation appointment with our physicians.

To ensure that your experience at our center is as efficient as possible, we have outlined a few steps to aid in that process.

Below is a list of documents we would like to have for your first visit.

  • Copy of your medical records (last 6-12 months)
  • Pathology reports from biopsies & surgeries
  • Imaging studies i.e.: CAT scan, MRI, Ultrasound, PET scan, PET/Ct (last 12 months or from the time when you were first diagnosed)
  • Most recent laboratory test results (blood work)

If you are having any difficulty getting copies of your medical records, do not worry, we can obtain them for you upon arrival.  So once you have completed the New Patient Forms and gathered what you can of the medical records mentioned above, you can either email, fax or bring the forms and medical records with you to your initial consultation.

Please confirm that we have received all documents sent before your arrival or bring the originals with you to your initial consultation appointment.

Below is a list of items we would like you to bring with you to your initial consultation appointment. (You can also provide this information with the required documents if that is more convenient for you.)

  • A detailed list of all medications with the dosages you are currently taking.
  • A detailed list of all nutritional supplements with the dosages you are currently taking.

You will need to plan to spend the entire day at the center on the day of your initial consultation appointment.  For patients traveling from out of town, the initial appointment can be scheduled at the beginning of your Comprehensive Cancer Care Program.  The initial office visit with our doctors will take approximately two-three hours which will include:

  • Taking a thorough medical history
  • A comprehensive evaluation of your medical condition
  • In-depth discussion of what is required to restore your health.
  • The discussion of possible healing therapy options

At the end of your office visit, our physicians will write the orders for your individualized healing program.  During this time you will tour our healing center, meet our staff, learn more about the therapies we utilize and enjoy a delicious healthy meal.

Once your orders are completed, our patient care coordinator will meet with you to review the plan and cost involved.  If desired, you can start your healing program on the same day or the following day.

Billing Policy

We will provide you with an invoice at the time services are rendered. Payment can be made by cash, check, money orders, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.

We will give you the name and phone number of independent billing agents who may be able to help you file your medical expenses from our office with your insurance carrier and recoup some of your expenses. However, our doctors do not participate in any Medicare or Medicaid programs. Therefore, claims will not be accepted by Medicare or any secondary insurance companies that require denials from Medicare first.
