Annie Green, BSN, RN – Hyperthermia Nurse
I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. At the age of 17, I worked as a receptionist at an assisted living center. I loved working with the elderly so after I graduated from high school, I worked in various roles in assisted living while going to college. I obtained my first Bachelor degree in 2007 from Kent State University in human development and family studies with a minor in gerontology. This allowed me to become a nursing home administrator for the next two years. As an administrator, I was limited and could not actively work with patients, so I decided to go back to school and get a second degree in nursing. In 2011, I graduated with my BSN, also from Kent State University.
Since I graduating from nursing school I have worked as a nurse in the ER, Surgery (with a focus on open heart and vascular) owned and operated a home health agency and worked PRN as a nurse giving IV infusions.
After moving to Arizona in June of 2019, I struggled with obesity, major stomach issues and a number of other health concerns and could not find any answers. I started to do my own research and I found a great naturopathic doctor who finally listened to me and helped me. With her help, I decided to change my diet to a whole food plant-based diet. Over a course of 18 months, I lost 50 pounds and reversed the course of some of the conditions I was suffering from.
Through this experience, I learned firsthand the power of healing your body with food. This ignited a passion for holistic nursing. For two years I searched for a way I could work at a place in which patients are educated and help to heal physically, emotionally and spiritually with a focus on eating a plant-based diet. That is how I found An Oasis of healing! From the first day I walked in the door, I saw an environment that is family oriented and focused on helping to educate and empower patients to take charge of their health in a personalize way.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our chocolate lab. I love preparing whole food plant-based recipes and making them my own. My other greatest joy is my public ministry, where I can talk to people and teach them about the Bible.
