Thomas Alexander, MD, Internal Medicine
Thomas Alexander M.D is board certified in Internal Medicine, he has an MD degree and a residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Dr. Alexander is Board Certified in Internal Medicine with additional training in Endocrinology. After practicing in the conventional medical world for five years he was better able to appreciate the drawbacks and the strengths of the current pharmaceutical dominated approach to medicine. He then chose to work with Dr. Jonathan Wright, renowned author, pioneer in Integrative Medicine and founder of Bio-Identical Hormone use in North America.
Wanting to further explore the whole-person approach to healing Dr. Alexander moved to Arizona in 2007 in order to work in a more holistic environment. He believes that interventions are more effective as we uncover deeper reasons for a loss of optimum health and that the primary role in good health can be found in understanding and education. Combining the strengths of an Integrated Nutritional Biochemistry model with mainstream medical approaches, he seeks to find the underlying cause for disease. He has thus far resisted the temptation to specialize in a particular field but holds a particular interest in hormonal issues, adrenal and cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
